- FIRST FRIDAY International Folk Dancing
On the first Friday of the month join the Folk Dance party from about 8:00-11:00pm with live music at Redwood Raks, 824 L Street, Arcata (Old Creamery Building at 8th & L Streets at the end of the courtyard off the parking lot). Finger food potluck! (visit their website)
- Contra Dancing
You don't need to know anything about dance to enjoy, and you don't need to bring a partner. Contra Dances are usually held the 2nd Saturday of every month at 8:00 pm at the Arcata Veterans Hall, 14th and J Streets, Arcata, California. Admission is $6.00 general, $5.00 for HFS members.

- Humboldt Folklife Festival
Held every July in Blue Lake at and around Dell Arte. Featuring a whole week of music and dance performances, classes, and fun for the whole family. To learn more, visit www.humboldtfolklife.org.
- Arcata Folk Dance Festival
A lovely bi-annual event that features workshops, concerts and parties with international folk dancers and musicians from across the region at the Bayside Grange. The next one will be in April 2012, so be on the lookout! For more information, visit www.arcatafolkdancefestival.org
